First things first- I'm going to need a little grace here. I've never been much of a blogger (at all), so I'm not familiar with the etiquette of it all. But, I'm super trilled about the work that we're doing so I have to share!

Very briefly, training  camp was awesome and so challenging. There were about 200 college age kids setting out to 13 (I believe) different coutries for two months. Admittedly, I was a little overwhelmed. I experienced the spirit in ways I've never imagined before and grew so much. I think the Lord really showed me a lot of what it looks like to be free and rest in Him. So these last couple of weeks I've really been seeking out what freedom in my faith looks like on a daily basis.

As for our first week in Honduras- could not be MORE pleased! Gosh- God is so good you know? First of all, our team of 7 shows up on Honduran soil with the understanding that we are in for an intense and brutal summer. In all honesty, we were expecting the worse in terms of living conditions and nutrition. Oh how the Lord provides. The farm that we are living on is beautiful. We go hiking through the mountains with the kids often, are in a safe pueblo, and have developed wonderful relationships with the neighbors. I mean, it's even possible that I got dancing lessons from Pamela and Alexandra the other day. Not at all embrassing.

More importantly though is the work that we are doing. We've been living with our contact, Tony, and two other Honduran boys, Josue and Henri. Such beautiful boys. In addition, about 7 other boys visit on the weekends. Basically, our time with them involves teaching english, helping with their homework, playing soccer, hiking, and having meals together. On a larger scale though, we are showing them what life without drugs or violence or anger looks like. We love on them and are patient with them. for goodness sakes, we listen to them- something that doesn't happen at home in Los Pinos. It's the moments I used to take for granted that make each day so beautiful here.

In addtion, we've been teaching P.E., art, and english classes at a Christian school in Los Pinos (one of the most dangerous and gang infested pueblos in the area). These kids are thirsty for love and thirsty to learn. Today was just the first day of teaching english, but I have already been so humbled and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for these children.

So thank you for the prayers- I'll try to be good about making the next blogs a little more interesting. I just wanted to catch everyone up :)
